The program

How a life of service is honored

Iالتقاعد

Retirement

Each dog leaves active duty with a formal handover from its unit and a complete service and health record.

IIالتأهيل

Rehabilitation

Veterinary care and slow decompression at Garden Sanctuary help each dog settle into a new chapter. Service done, now it's time for some fun and learning a new way of life.

IIIالتبنّي

Re-homing

A carefully vetted family, matched to the dog's temperament and history, for a quiet and honored retirement.

Adoption

The path home

Al Wafi adoptions are for retired service dogs only, and are handled separately from Garden Sanctuary's general adoptions.

  1. 01

Submit an application and tell us about your home and routine.

  2. 02

Our adoption team reviews your application and decides whether a home visit is needed.

  3. 03

Meet the dog at the center and learn its history of service. We encourage more than one visit to the center to meet your dog.

  4. 04

A signed adoption agreement and lifelong follow-up from our team.
